[Brainstorming] Water Rogue/Mage

Discussion in 'Modding' started by FaustoMartense, Aug 3, 2012.

  1. Basically I want a rogue/mage skill tree with a skill to refill fountains but I do not know what else to add in it. Ideas?

Are you sure that is even possible?
    Well, ideas:
Slippery Defense: Dodge and Dmg proc on being hit
Dehydration: Damage to an enemy, maybe spawn a water elemental next to them (Yes I know, D&D)
High Pressure Blast: Ranged, blast damage, knockback.
(Likely capstone): Eye of the Maelstrom: Damage in a 5x5 area around you for multiple turns (moving with you, I would say)
Siren Call: Charm monster for some turns/summon siren
Poseidon's Wrath: Damagebuff with piercing and w/e dmg type you choose for the skill to represent water (likely hyperborean)
Water propellation: Teleport in cardinal directions, maybe knocking enemies in the path to the sides.
Call the Kraken: Another idea for a capstone, effect largely like Bolt of Squid etc.

Damage type could best be hyperborean, I think.
    Starting equipment a trident (Neptun/Poseidon)

  3. Right now it is just an idea... but since the Archeologist Skill Tree can restore used anvils, I guess it can work with fountains by tweaking that particular skillĀ“s code. I need to test it...

Slippery Defense sounds like a nice starting skill. Deshydratation can work as a single target curse, like Lingering Weakness. Siren Call sounds nice. Maybe I can base all the skill three in Siren/Triton, changing the High Pressure Blast to a piercing long distance javeline like attack (with polearms).
Poseidon's Wrath and Water propellation are nice like that.
Call The Kraken (Release the Kraken sounds better) can be a bolt like spell with a similar effect to Bolt Of Squid.

Sadly there is no Water Damage, so I would have to use Hyperborian... I can say it uses very cold water haha.

Following the newly released Polearm skill tree, I can add some Polearm only physical or hybrid skills...

You could also make it use crushing (because water can crush) and asphyxiative damage (well, duh).

Depending on the skill, I guess. But either way, I always thought that whenever an "ice" element is present and the game does not have elements for everything, water is supposed to be the element of physical damage.

  5. I tried and failed... the code for the Krong ritual is <effect type="rechargeanvil"/> I tried with fountain but did not work. Maybe the word that design the fountain is not "fountain".

It is more likely that the Gaslamp team did not yet think of/want to incorporate this idea into the game and thusly there is no command for it.
