In spellDB the damage from the "Butcher" effect is commented out due to it being an On-Death effect. This is not entirely valid reasoning however as butchery sometimes occurs on hitting an enemy after you gain the "The Most Dangerous Game" ability.
It's intended to be that way, from what I know. But then again, better to wait for Sir Nicholas or someone else from the Gaslamp Games team to comment on that.
