The check box option to enable/disable Steam Cloud isn't present in the DoD Steam properties. After the patch broke my old save, I was forced to start fresh. I created a new character, but Steam kept re-downloading the old incompatible save. I found a post on the Steam forums about using the -nukesteamcloud command line option. I started the game with the -nukesteamcloud option, but when I quit though, it re-uploaded all saves again. I deleted the entire Gaslamp Games directory from My Documents (After Backing up my new character), ran the game with -nukesteamcloud again which left me with a fresh clean game. I put my new character's files back into the new clean Gaslamp Games\Dungeons of Dredmor directory, but it doesn't show up in the load games list. To make things worse, it deleted it when I quit the game.

Update Steam, it should now ask for consent before raping your saves.

  3. I ended up disabling steam cloud entirely, since this is the only game I play on multiple computers.

please add option to disable steam cloud, since my net is slow, it often failed when syncing with steam cloud, and also i am disabling steam cloud for all my games, because i don't need steam cloud at all.

    Go to Documents/Gaslamp Games/Dungeons of Dredmor/, edit config.xml by replacing <setting value="1" name="enableSteamCloud"/> with <setting value="0" name="enableSteamCloud"/>
