CANT PLAY THE GAME!

seeing that nobody seems to react to my topic in the bug forum il have to post it here.

whenever i get on the configuration screen through steam the game crashes. this will not allow me to play the game, while before i was able to do it perfectly fine. i removed the game and reinstalled it several times already. even defragmentated it multiple times but nothing indicates me that i did something wrong.
on the update page (steam) they said they fixed an issue like this but i am not aware if it is the same thing or not.

 

You mean the launcher crashes?

Does it crash when you click Start Game or immediately?

Also are you playing on Mac or PC?

 

I have the same problem. I was in the middle of picking skills for a new game when it crashed to desktop. Now when I click on "Start Game" from the launcher the game crashes immediately (i.e., the launcher disappears and the game never comes up).

1st(answer to stoo)
of all i am using a PC. everything inside it is uptodate
same goes for all the drivers.

the game crashes on the configuration screen. (after steam loads it)

2nd(answer to nicholas)
i deleated everything of DoD and then re-installed it. that didnt work.
(i said that before but ok) and yes i tried it again.

i also deleated everything in the DoD folder of steam. even the backup files.

aperantly this banana wont be easily un-banana itself.

nuked the darn folder.
i didnt realize it existed there.

and the game finaly works again.
no banana hiding in that folder anymore.
*moves a banana to that folder*

 

Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

 

Technically you shouldnt have to delete the save games, just the config.txt and config.xml files to resolve this issue.
