Hi, posting another thread for a specific skill tree, and no more ridiculous balance discussions Anyways, the skill tree's name is Chaos-Mage (or whatever the devs want to re-name it), and it primarily affects your . It will be similar to the Assassin tree, but balanced for magic. Chaos-Mage skill # one: +2 , + an additional chance (around 20%, might stack with ) to add (2 +.025 ) Or a random damage type to any spell. skill # two: +2 , +2 skill # three: Grants abillity: Chaos chant, gives 33-100 for the next spell, cooldown: 33-100 or more turns. skill # four: +2, + an additional chance (around 10%, might also stack with ) to add (6 +.05 ) Or a random damage type to any spell; may stun. skill # five: +7 These use the Assassination tree as a template, but should give a good example of what I am thinking anyways.. I gave it higher than the Assassination tree's , because I think that the Assassination tree's abilities are more useful. It would also be cool if the Chaos-Mage had a higher chance to take critical damage from both melee, and magic; but had even higher than this tree currently does. I just think its odd that there is a tree, but no tree; I also think it is a cool skill tree and would be nice to use. I hope that others like it, and that the devs consider adding a similar tree to the game !
This would be completely moddable too if they just would have bothered to make triggeroncast use your target... that and a way to limit a buff by spellcasts, or remove a specific buff from a spell. Also: "It effects your " should be "It affects your " or "It effects "
I agree that it would be nice as a mod as well, but I would prefer that the devs add a skill tree similar to this, since it would be balanced far better, and be far more interesting than anything I could put together. I'm sure a clever modder could get roughly the same end result anyways, even without those options.. Although I have not seen the program myself, or what it is capable of so I can not be certain. Anyways, thanks for fixing my grammar.. using those "smilies" can be pretty 'interesting' ^^ Edit: How is "it effects " any different from "it affects your ".. Anyways, I don't really care that much, I'll change it again though since you commented; but I personally don't like cluttering a thread too much, so I'll use this edit as my reply..
Probably shouldn't have suggested using effects as that has the weird definition and nobody uses it. But it not only gives haywire but puts it to use, therefore it effects it.
I was thinking about the Root of T'char and wouldn't it be cool if the Chaos-Mage skill tree had the chance to cast random effects that are similar to the effects of eating the Root of T'char (with more positive, interesting and useful effects) instead of just raw damage increases? It would certainly fit with the game's style more as well..
I am rooting for circus style magics/ skills myself; I posted some on my other thread though, with a new cooldown based ability system.. shame noone has replied though
