For ease of use. Because right now we've got piles of stuff (TM) on the floor. And even when you separate them out according to type, it can still be annoying to get at that Potion of Mana that's 8 deep. If you could click on a container and find the symbol for the item at once, it would really help access.

I've saved up a ton of crafting things, wands, supplies etc. on dlvl 1 and wizardlands of the same level and have no trouble with allotting each item its individual space.

Really? And you can look at 300+ items to see what you've got at a glance? I envy you. I guess at least some those of us who can't and prefer stacks-by-item-type will just have to go with a request for containers. And in turn, you can request that the rest of us don't get them. ;)

  4. Try using autoloot? Especially if you're hoarding everything you might as well have it set to always on for most item types; it makes it pretty simple to like, grab all your basic alchemy supplies when you want to craft something, for example. (Of course then yuo have to drop it all again >.< But if you keep stacks smallish, like, nonconsumable potions here, powders here, gems here... then dropping when you're done isn't too bad.)

On that front, I tend to stick all the trash to sell/lutefisk in one or two piles, since it's simple to pick up a pile this way.

(Also I'm not sure why you'd archive your mana potions? :p Those seem like a thing you'd keep on you :p)

I do think some better item organization stuff would be handy, although I think as far as making the inventory system less of a pain that wouldn't be my first choice.

Unless you don't have any wizard abilities that use mana. If that's the case, mana potions just take up space I can use for something else. ;)

  6. In which case you wouldn't really need to save them :p (though it occurs to me there's a few alchemy recipes that use mana potions, sooooo)

Because many potions can be used to encrust items. Including mana potions, as I just did a few minutes ago. It's better to leave those behind, and take along a range of beverages (absinthe, pear brandy, etc). Plus, I like to save the better potions for levels where they come in handiest.

Although mana potions got kind of buffed by the drunkeness debuffs - Absinthe weakens you quite noticeable for a few turns..

Continuing with the same theme: it might be fun if players started off with containers that resembled holes in the ground, but were able to purchase (in game currency) other visuals--such as a potion cabinet, a trophy wall, etc, which would simply be fancy looking containers.

  10. When each tile of your pocket dimension have at least one item, walking around with autoloot enable is not wise.

    I like BorodinĀ“s idea a lot.

I never even thought about turning autoloot off when entering the Pocket Dimension. A world of possibilities awaits!
