I am experiencing the horror of saving a game, quitting DoD, only to come back later and see that my savefile does not work sometimes (maybe 10% of the time?). The picture for the savefile does not display, the auto-save picture does not display, and trying to load either file results in the program immediately crashing. This is not good. I am playing 1.0.10 DoD (with Realm installed) on a Mac Air, OS X 10.7.3. I am also playing with perma-death on, not that it should matter. This is rendering it very difficult to play given that anytime I walk away the save files may not work. Thanks, Fish
You said you were on a Mac, are you playing with Steam? There are some saving related issues for a few people, try running the game directly instead of through Steam. This is related to Steam cloud syncing.
I am indeed running through Steam. I'm pretty novice at using it though; how do I run Dredmor outside of Steam? When I run the DoD application from the Finder, it opens up Steam first. Thanks, N-
Okay, I don't have a Mac so I'm not sure where the app is myself - but I spoke to Nicholas briefly and he suggested doing this: Right click the game in your library, properties, set launch options, then put -nukesteamcloud in there. Try it once, if the problem happens again, leave it in there everytime.
