At first this happened and I thought it was just a random crash, but apparently I crash *every* time I learn this recipe. It's kinda annoying cause both times I've been on pretty damn good runs and just crashed. I don't REALLY want to make saving before reading a bookshelf a habit, but it appears that may be necessary. I do have the -opengl tag at launch on steam to enable the overlay. It happened twice in a row, leading me to believe it's not random.
This is a known bug. The issue (I've been told) is that it crashes when you mouse-over the n-dimensional lathe picture while the bony wand recipe is up. So if you stand to the right of the shelf and click on the left side of it, your mouse should be nowhere near the lathe pic and it won't crash. In theory. It hasn't come up for me on a bookshelf since I was told how to avoid the crash, and I don't specifically remember mousing over it the time it happened before I was told how to avoid it. A search of the forums should turn up more info on this, as there are at least two other threads on the topic.
