fairly rare case but if you manage to create a character that has no active skills that go in the bottom right hot bar I've found the game will crash when you try to use the mouse wheel. it won't crash when the skill book is open since the wheel scrolls that up and down but it'll crash when playing the game normally till you get a skill in there.
