Get the save functionality happening and I'm in! Just to make this post worthwhile I'll add some thoughts from viewing LP's etc. As a City Builder game addict, the only aspect of this game that makes me excited to play (over other excellent CB's) is the citizen thoughts/memories aspect. I feel that if you guys can get this aspect working well as a truly influential part of the game-play this will become a seminal title. The potential replay-ability on offer from a game where population units have meaningful (ie. game affecting) reactions to their environment, player actions and interactions with other pop. units, as well as 'reaction modifiers' based on previous interactions, is practically limitless. I hope that you guys continue focusing on this aspect in future, good luck and I look forward to throwing money at you
i don't really like games like simcity and anno -series was only interesting for a short time, but i like games like CE which are similiar to dwarf fortress in which sense your buildings aren't the important thing but the citizens and their stories. also having some military and combat in the game is very important for me to NOT make it a dull city building experience. having attacks, invasion or in general monsters and mayhem arrive from time to time which you have to deal with and the post-mayhem problems your citizen will have (emotions, feelings, etc.) are the truly interesting part in such simulations. in that way i really hope the devs will continue their focus on these aspects and less on adding x building to produce y good which is only eye-candy for having more stuff to build (which in general isn't wrong but the game should be centered around the people).
