In brief, my character was accosted by an underhanded Sickly Diggle on Floor 1, successfully dodged, and still caught the Diggle Plague. Surely dodging ought to protect one from all effects of an attack, not just the damage?
Noticed this in lower floors with Antimagic Field and some Gnome type. +1 for Dodging disallowing procs.
My kneejerk reaction is to keep things as they are, mainly because I haven't looked at monster dodge percentages enough to say whether or not this would be like a ton more magic resist throughout the dungeon (or on fighter types that are normally sitting ducks for spellcasting). Dodge = no effects would make thematic / flavor sense, but it's unclear to me what it would do to balance. Edit: All that said, it may well be clear to the devs. What's more, it may be that this is indeed a bug and was intended for dodge to stop triggered effects. Since I don't know, I probably shouldn't have commented in the first place. I mean, I'm basically treating this like it's in the "suggestions" forum, not the "bugs" forum. My bad.
i know this is an old post, but with the Expansion pack installed, i'm getting this now. I dont remember this happening before and its really hard to play. He can be five spaces from me and i'll get it. Then he just poisons me with that purple cloud. Not sure if thats how its supposed to work, but he never touches me and i still get it. Now the Enchanted Plaguetato are my hardest enemies in the game...never had to worry about them before.
oh ok, maybe i had more resistance before or something...just dont remember it being this damaging before heh
Playing a Vegan a lot lately. I have had animals dodge my accidental attack sparing me the vegan shame? Should it proc anyway?
