So, I got a hexaxe of the magic axe lords, after much agonizing preparation, and i've discovered it has a fatal glitch: its own killing blow bonus cancels itself out every time it activates from a melee attack. So in fact, it doesn't at all work as described. However, if I use ranged strength-based non-throwing attacks, like sonic cannon, or my mod's flying tackle/jump, the bonus activates, then persists until I attack normally. So in your opinion, would it be cheating to use large chains of such force attacks in order to make use of the killing blow buff?
Not exactly "cheating" in that you don't do anything that the game isn't normally permitting you to do, but I still consider it abuse, which isn't really fair. I guess that for as long as you aren't trying to make it into a ranking with that, there's nothing wrong with (ab)using it if you can.
Yeah, I was worried it would be abuse, the thing is, I thought it might compensate for what the axe is SUPPOSED to allow me to do. It's not working the way it's supposed to, and I was thinking this alternative function might be equivalent.
Yeah, killing anything in any way OTHER than by hitting it with the Hex Axe awards the buff...I sold mine back to Brax.
You could fix it by changing the trigger on kill spell to a new spell that triggers 'Killing Blow' after 1 turn.
