...which I ran into. Happened on level 12. The monster zoo was actually in two rooms. When I killed everything in one, I received no reward. However, I was able to "see" through the wall into the next room despite having the door closed. When I was down far enough so the door didn't show on the wall, I could shoot fireballs into the room. When the doors were visible, I couldn't, but I still could use pyrokinesis on the inhabitants. Killed all but two before I opened the doors, and stepped through. When they were dead, the reward came.

The same has happened to me a few times so far, so I don't know if it is an actual bug though, because both are a bit smaller than usual.. they also are a bit farther apart for me as well.

My brother had a level spawn with two monster zoo rooms that were literally across the level from one another, both of which needed to be cleared before he got a reward. The weird thing is that if he was in one zoo, it gave him vision of the other; so he could see the other zoo on the map surrounded by darkness when he found the first.

Double zoos are a rare event but they do happen. As far as I know they are considered a feature rather than a bug. Double zoos can be of any size (I've found double zoos with 200+ enemies in them, happens when you find two of the largest size.)

As for the other part, zoos have a weird property where if you can see any tile in one zoo you can see the whole thing. I think this is supposed to make targeting spells easier. But when you have a double zoo the game sees both zoos as one room, barriers between them not withstanding, so it shows you the entirety of both rooms. Normally this is not an issue, as they spawn a reasonable distance from one another. Yours spawned right next to each other so you could "see" one from the other and spam spells there. It's such a rare occurrence that I'm not sure it needs any kind of work around.

Also, since the game sees double zoos as one room, you only get one reward for clearing them. :(

Hmm.. this got me thinking, maybe very rarely more than just two zoos should be created.. it could even be possible for the entire level to be one Giant zoo (with door ways ofcouse, so they don't swarm you to much). Multi-zoos would be alot more dangerous, but would give alot of experience if you chose to stay on the floor, and should probably give more rewards/ chests/ uber chests even? There could even be a highlighted areas when there is a Giant zoo, those areas either have very rare loot/ alot of loot/ some very dangerous monsters/ or a very rare event to further encourage you to stay on the floor, and not take the first set of stair that you found.

I think it would be very cool to have rare event floors like this, just to add some more variety and such.

Or it could just kill you. Y'know, if it spawns on the 15th floor or something...

It would be pretty rare, and unless it is on the last floor, then you could always move on.. If this was added, it should probably be restricted from the last floor, just because it wouldn't be fair to have Dredmor and all those mobs together.

  8. I just had this double room happen, but it was 3 rooms.
The zoo was to the south, a door to the west , an open room to the east and door to the north of that room.
In the east room there was a broken Krug. When I cleared the Zoo, I was in the north room and it also repaired the Krug.
Many of the monsters were teleporters. Ghosts, sun critters and some kind of blobby's of corruption.
So the chase didn't seem to odd as I've noticed that some teleporting monsters can teleport through doors.
