I haven't really read this article so I might be talking about something else now, but I did hear about some sort of "chip" that was to be placed on skin or just under it, which would react to certain neural impulses and send signals to whatever is supposed to receive them, the same way "more advanced" artificial limbs react to neural impulses to allow their users to move them on their own. Nothing too advanced, compared to the already-existing ways to control things, but still pretty useful for things which only require a few distinct signals (that being said, I wonder if someone will someday get an idea of making artificial wings with that sort of controller).
I think they would add some measures against that if they ever tried to market it. PS. Yay, you're back.
