So, the game looks fun and stuff, bought the game and started off a little (dang it's pretty fun) But I've got an question, what about the endgame? is there an endgame? if so, how is it? Will all resources eventually run out or are there options to make sure they don't? Like for example, banished has mines and stuff which will make sure you can atleast get SOME stone in exchange for your room to build, in anno (it's not really anything like anno, I know) you got stuff like researches to increase the raw materials like mines. (I'm nowhere near far in the game so if theres anything, sorry I just wanted to know ^^) Anyway, love the game so far hopefully it'll be better and better and more stable at all times and turn this baby into a amazing game!
Well, from what I've gathered usually the end game involves everything being on fire. There's two directions I believe CE's is going. One is the Dwarf Fortress way, which is there will be so many things that could go wrong that eventually something absolutely catastrophic will happen, and be hilarious. Or impressed by your ability to make a functioning and living colony, the Empire rewards you with a new colony! Which your old colony can trade with or maybe declare war on because of the curse of your family line.
The devs have said that there will be some sort of single player campaign mode which will presumably be more goal oriented. The goal of sandbox mode will always be to survive as long as you can until inevitable and probably hilarious tragedy.
Campaign mode will probably contain copious amounts of glorious failure as well, given the satirical potential. (Can you ship home forty gold bars before cultists sacrifice the miners to Quag'garoth and the fishpeople wipe out everybody else?)
