Factions

Short question: Will I allways be bound to the empire? Or will I be able to play an independent colony, a rebel, another faction?

 

As far as I can tell, the player will only be able to play as the Empire. but WHO KNOWS what could happen in a future expansion.

 

The Empire is the focus initially. As an expansion. Who knows ?

 

I would like to play as the NouvyRus (spelling?), as you hear about them a lot in the previews. I would imagine that they would be a hard mode as it seems from descriptions that most of their equipment is cheap, old, and tattered.
