So there was one thing I discovered gets quite annoying in the late game, especially with blobs of corruption - Blobs and Cubes are so small that they tend to hide in the flaming corpses, especially when clearing a zoo. The best solution in my mind is to simply remove the burning effect for monsters that are dead (unless there's a gameplay mechanic to it that I'm not aware of?) This would also alleviate the "Hmmm, is that fire safe to step in, or is it going to kick my ass?" question.
Another thing flaming corpses hide is unactivated Runes of Exploding. I've died at least once to my own spell mines whilst grabbing all the money from a monster zoo in this way.
The taller fires are the ones you don't want to step in. The little ones are okay. It does get kind of hard to tell in big mobs though.
I'm experienced enough to know that NOW, but for a while I literally avoided every fire on the ground and thought "wow, this is going to make things tough if I kill a lot of things with fire..."
