I recently gifted one of my steam versions of the bundle pack of Dredmor to a friend of mine and listening to his learning processes on VOIP has brought some pretty great humor to our nights as of late. Anyone else done this lately or have an example of something funny a friend has done? We were trolling him all night when he vowed he'd never step into a mysterious portal again, and then eventually he did by accident. Or the first lutefisk paradox.... haha
Well, I don't really have anything that would qualify as bloopers, but when I got my friend a copy of DoD (because I was at his house when I sent him the key via an internet communicator), his reply was something along the lines of "Once again, what do you have against my free time?".
Nyahaha, WELCOME TO HELL, MAINSTREAM GAMERS! Behold, the genre that will suck you in, chew you up mercilessly and spit you out over and over, and you will beg it to do so until you go mad! BEHOLD THE ROGUELIKE! /drama
"Losing is fun" is the best catchphrase ever when it comes to Roguelikes. Of course, to me, "Losing through no fault of your own (read: bad RNG)" keeps me from enjoying certain Roguelikes too much (I'm looking at you, Powder), but every game is going to have a "breaking point" where too many losses pile up and you have to take, at the least, a break.
My friend bump his head against his desk when he saw you could shine in the Vampire skill tree. He's a big vampire fan, and that reference... Killed him a second time. The Final Death, in a way.
