Yes, that title seems silly. I have this weird issue, My gaslamp games folder in the My documents, where all the save games are, has some weird ghost saves in it, and because of the saves, I can't save a new character with that name. IF I do, only the auotmatic save works. The other one tries to load the original save, which according to my computer was made last year in April. Okay, I think I got this. sorry for the weird post. Sorry for wasting the server space with a post I managed to fix after 10 minutes of tinkering.
By "ghost saves" do you mean there are files with saves which are not loaded by the game but displayed as existent, or that the game shows that there are saves but there aren't any files of this sort? Because in the first case simply deleting them ought to work, but in the latter I'm sort of stumped.
Well, they were files, that upon deleting them, would magically reappear in the directory upon loading up Dungeons of Dredmor again. :O But I did manage to fix it. IT turns out the issue was two save games with the same name screwing each other up.
