Was wondering if this was intended or not-- if you cast Gray heron Takes Flight (the unarmed 3x3 AOE knockback), an enemy can counterattack you diagonally. Seems a bit odd since normally enemies can only melee attack you if they are perpendicular to your character.
Enemies can counteract from wherever if you hit them with a melee attack. So if you have one that has a more peculiar attack pattern than just "whatever is adjacent to you", creatures you hit can counter-attack from weird places.
A lot of mod skills have included a 1-brittle or 1-turn pre-debuff that gives -100 counter/block for such situations. Look at things like rogue scientist or battle geology in YHTNTEP for official examples.
yep. For a while in the old version of Warlockery, I had a huge cone-like attack="1" spell. The very first time I threw it down on a zoo, I got quintuple-counterattacked from quite a long ways away and died horribly.
