This is something I've been wondering but didn't know if it was a bug or not. When I'm a vampire, it doesn't matter if my health regen is +1 or even +4, I never get a single point of hp from it. Is this by design? Vampires don't get to eat food but mana regen works just fine on them and they can still drink booze to get mana that way, even though it's not blood. Why doesn't health regen work for vampires?
It is not a bug. As a vampire, you cannot heal yourself by natural means - that includes food and standard health regeneration. Vampires are supposed to heal themselves by draining enemies' life and/or using various skills (Alchemy, Fungal Arts, Psionics, Fleshsmithing).
Also, I have to say it's a nice feature, but Vampires do traditionally have massive health regeneration abilities. Cut off their arm, it grows back. We humans can't do the same.
Yeah, but there needs to be some penalty for having permanent life-leech. In this case, the mythos had to take a backseat to game balance.
Hehehehe. Yeah. I don't blame the game at all. Now if only they fixed Vampire life leeching on the hit that kills the enemy. And I really don't know why they haven't decided to fix it so it doesn't rely on the silly Magic Power. Vampires can be mages, yes, but they hardly live for it.
