Long time player, first time poster here, Question for you all. How do you manage your skills with the 9 slot hotbar limit? I've been trying out combos that have a number of trees with activated abilities lately, and I am having a hard time managing my skills with the 9 slot limit. Is there a feature I'm missing out on, or should I be resigned to swap out my less used skills in the 7-8-9 slots and keep the ones I use frequently in 1-6 at my finger tips. Yours truly, Indiggles
I honestly don't use may of the skills you can get. For example, I play mostly Wizard characters. I use 1-2 spells per tree, with 3 spell trees. I then use 2 slots for Thaumaturgical Tap and Extra-Planar Concentration. I use 1 slot for Invisible Geometries or another teleport, and 1-2 slots for utility / buffs (cycle the spells on this last slot on a per need basis). I use a pretty cut and dry build model with my builds though so I could see how some roguish builds with lots of activated skills could get clogged easily.
This is reason number one why I like mostly-passive skill trees. Long have I thought that the belt should be F1 - F12, and at least three different ability bars swapped between with Shift and Alt.
Perhaps this should be merged with: http://community.gaslampgames.com/threads/more-slots-in-the-skill-belt.1863/
It's a turn based game. I mean what's going to happen if you swap skills, someone ambushes you and kills you? Maybe I have more patience than some, but I don't have a problem swapping in and out skills in combat.
This is being addressed. Mr. Whitman has it on his list for after the CotW post-release fix patch that we're hashing out right now.
