mob attacks hitting b=Brax shouldn't cause him to agro me, >.>. Was at level 2 and finally had a decent game going. Left the shop and proceeded to attack a mummy a room down, one of his aoe moves, the purple one decided to attack Brax for some unknown reason which then caused him to become hostile and kill me before i even figured out what exactly happened...>.> I wasn't impressed, but mostly confused why the mummy's attack decided to cast on top of Brax in the first place...

That's strange. That definitely shouldn't happen.

<ai hint="mine" /> doesn't work very well. You were just unlucky in that the mummy hit Brax.

Is Brax hardcoded? Or can we edit him? I would like to make him all but invulnerable as a mod. Even if it requires replacing base game files.

Even if he was invulnerable I don't think it would matter, he would still "detect" you if you hit for 0 damage.

Oh.... That sucks. I don't suppose there is any other way to nullify him? A mod to negate Brax being a sensitive jerk would be awesome.

There might be, but I can't think of anything. Maybe if you can charm him...

My only complaint about Brax is the coordinated Braxing. I accidentally hit brax on floor eleven first time I found him (bad floor for me as a demonologist with low righteous resistance), and spent a huge amount of time tracking down every other Brax to kill him too so they would stop summoning the damn collectors. I didn't actually succeed though because of a surprising jump in the lethality of traps (I was playing a Clockwork Knight with a ton of health regen, so I didn't really care about mos traps, walked over a trap that hit me with Strong Acid Burn and killed me because I was down to half health from sea crusaders/dread collector spells, whereas any other trap would have done basically nothing at this point).

Wait, so if you piss off one brax, not only do you get that one after you but all the other ones also?
But ya, i just remember going into combat with a mummy a room away, next thing i know i see the dread collectors and brax come into view, i start being killed then i notice the purple cloud sitting on exactly where brax was, not exactly a common occurrence at least but a 'you gotta be kidding me" moment, lol.

Anytime Brax is hit with anything, even another monster's spells, *YOU* are the one blamed for it. And the only way out of the Dred Collector spawning is to leave the level, or kill each and every Brax on the level. (And I never managed that, so I cannot even be sure that would work.)

It's supposed to work because Brax is the one who summons them - literally, supposedly.

But is it true that they stop spawning permanently if you merely leave the level? Would brax cease being hostile? (Though I don't see why you wouldn't kill at least the one you personally offended if it came to that, he's a pushover)

Brax remains hostile even if you flee the level. Anytime you return to that level you will again be attacked by any Brax and the endless stream of DCs. Brax on later or previous levels acts as if you never attacked him. But it is supposed to be the same Brax everywhere. (I think it is best not to think about it too much.)
