    With the Steam Workshop stuff imminent, it has become clear that:

    a) We need some tools for modding in simple stuff, like items, monsters, rooms and some spells;
    b) We don't have these tools;
    c) I don't have time to write them.

    The general consensus at Casa del Gaslamp is that I should jump-start tool development somehow; put up some rough stuff, on a github, and let the open source world sort things out. This seems like a winner for all parties are concerned; you guys are crazy enough to make things work, and I can probably find a couple of weekends to do this in. Before I spend a weekend playing with Qt and swearing, though, I am wondering if somebody else would be interested in taking point on this.

    So.... is anybody interested in doing something of this sort?

    ehh, if I'm hearing you correctly it sounds similar to my "Mod Creators" as in my signature. Feel free to use what I have. Also my AP testing is finally nearing an end so I should be able to pick that project up again.

    I'm in. I can write up a 'how to put together a compleat skill' document re: skillDB, spellDB.

  4. Damn, man, when I was in HS I wasn't writing handbooks and 3rd party modding tools - I was just trying to ditch church so I could breakdance and masturbate in peace!

    IF IIRC:

    Glazed's tool should be able to go backwards and forwards - it might be a good idea to see what he has there.

    This is one of those times where I was better at UI design. I might be able to kludge something together if I knew more about what platforms I needed to target and reference docs for what counts as valid Dungeon of Dredmore xml.
