Is it possible to make an item impossible to Krong?

    Read the subject.

    I want to make/add a few items with really good special purpose stats. But they need to be impossible to Krnog or they will be too powerful and ruin balance. Honestly they will come close as I intend them, but if they can be prevented from adding via Anvils then they can work. (Since I know the special tag combined with the craftable tag and an artifact level zero should make it work out as I want. But I need to prevent procs from being added to the weapons I intend to make.)

    In case you are wondering, I am wanting to add a few major damage items that do *Only* :dmg_righteous:. They should have base stats that are pretty bad for everything other than that one damage type. And I am thinking of something like 3x the :dmg_righteous: of the Self-Righteous Sword of White Lies. But no other benefits, and actually a few downsides. I may balance the huge damage with something like inverse :life_steal: if that is possible, or a 100% debuff on hit.

    This weapon will be uber against most things, especially Dredmor himself. But careless use will frankly kill you.

    And I have other item ideas. This one just came to mind due to reading the following thread:

    *I* think that Dredmor should be quite possible to melee. But as things are that is suicide if you do not have a reliable teleport and plenty of healing methods.

    *Edit* I know this has probably been answered a hundred times. I just cannot seem to find the threads where it has. I may be searching the wrong terms.

    Short version, no, it isn't possible to make an Unkrongable equipment item. There are simply no means to check if an item has the Kronging function blocked.

    That being said, if you want to have this added, the proper thing to do is to ask Nicholas kindly.

    I just got finished cleaning my keyboard. And now that the keys are back in place, I guess I have no excuses. Nicholas, would you mind this being on the ever increasing request list? It need not be a high priority at all. Just something to sneak in one day while working on something related to it.

    Procs are so uncommon though it's not all that big of a deal if you krong it.

    actually you can, just make sure the item isn't a rings/belt/pants/shoes/armor/weapon/bow/gloves

    I was going to reply, but then I remembered a certain troll-faced mario avatar image someone had a while back...

    Sarcasm is not always appreciated, but it is surely deserved at times. :)

    Note that if this was not sarcasm, then I apologize for suggesting it was. I have no idea how this can be done while leaving the item free to be equipped and used as a weapon.

    Well, I dunno if the artifact="1", no listed quality bug has been fixed. The thing that was keeping helm of Threepwood and similar from being kronged successfully before.

    Well that simply causes them to give 0 stats the first time you krong it. It doesn't affect any after the first and also doesn't affect the possibility to get procs.
