I just recently got back into modding after moving (again....) and decided to try and get more use out of the crafting skills, but some of the lines I tried using didn't work. Is there a list or tutorial that includes all of the functions such as randomgem and other nifty things? I'm also playing around with extending existing skill trees for extended gameplay, but I'm having a little trouble adding things like brittle to dots. A list of functions or tutorials would be much appreciated. Also, have wand skills become broken since the update? I noticed they weren't attached to the skills they used to belong to (such as the recharge skill) and when I put them back, they didn't work.
Wand skills are deprecated, and replaced by another wand skill. ~shrugs~ And for the list of functions, the best way is to take a look at everything - code for base game, expansion, and mods. You can also take a look at the modding request thread, as some of the earliest requests were added to the game.
Hmmm...I think my modding handbooks may be the most complete tutorial of sorts around. they are not complete, but it's a start.
http://community.gaslampgames.com/threads/visual-spell-templates-and-other-quick-references.2335/ Aforementioned wiki link, along with other very useful information, is in the sticky thread linked here. There's no list specifically like you're talking about (with things like randomgem), but there's a lot of good stuff there.
Thanks, everyone. I'll see about compiling information on what I find. Things have been a little hectic at our new place, so it may not actually happen, but I'll try and post what I find. I think I read something about using the n-dimensional lathe to recharge wands. Is that correct? When I mod games, I like to change things to extend the lifespan of a playthrough, so that's what I'm focusing on now. One prominent feature that brought about my question was adding item generation related to crafting branches. I tried randomreagent, which doesn't work apparently. I never got brittle applied to the regen mana dot, either. There are a couple more things I'm messing with, but I'll investigate myself. I've only beaten Dredmor once since it was released. That may be because of my habits formed from modding Oblivion, though. Which reminds me, they actually added horse armor in the Dredmor DLC. That's what I call fanservice, lol.
