I'm currently working on an item mod that will add more items to the game. (Currently at 20 something.) Some of the items are meant for late game (as i have been told the item selection dries up at that point.) but I have never made it past level 5 myself. (Course only had the game for a week soo...) So I'm asking if there are any rules of fum to follow when building items. Like... Don't make them worth X amount of money. Never let them do X amount of damage. Things like that. (So I don't have to patch it as much...) Also if anyone has some suggestions for items they would like to see (and can't/dont want to mod it themselves), toss them out here. I might add them. ---------------------------------------------------------------- For a tease trailer here are the names for some of the items that will be in the patch. Generally speaking, when it comes to item prices, you'll want your items to be worth a similar amount of zorkmids items of the same level do. And when it comes to damage, the same as above - look at the already existing items and just make yours similarly potent; the only real "warning" I can give you there is not to go overboard with righteous damage, since it's the most powerful damage type in the game (more or less). Other than that, I have no suggestions (because making items takes little time compared to the hell that I'm usually making, so none of my ideas are free to be given away).
Note that Aetherial damage is almost as powerful as Righteous. While nothing is weak to it, IIRC nothing resists it either. Food for thought. We have a whole thread sitting around about exotic damage, both offense and defense, both player and monster. It might be worth your checking out.
If you make artifacts, remember to give them a positive level. Without a number, they default to zero. And that means they will not be Krongable. They will also be worthless for quest rewards as they again will gain nothing over the standard item. I will post more helpful pointers if I recall any.
