As the new science system is refined and expanded, I was wondering how much it will continue to mirror the foreign office and where it might strike out on its own path. Specifically, I assume that when there are more than one area of research available, switch between them will reset the points accrued as the foreign office does when changing factions. However, unlike the foreign office, the laboratory creates permanent effects. Will those effects persist after the laboratory has been tasked with pursuing alternate paths of research, or as we going to need to found new laboratories to expand science beyond the research of a single path? I also noted that the vacuum chamber and macroscope are no longer in the build list for the laboratory. If I remember correctly, the research jobs for artifacts and such were disable pending their proper integration into the new scheme of things. Will research of these items occur in the future regardless of which broad subject of research is being pursued by the laboratory where such items are investigated?
