...right now, the room that has two levers, with an artifact in one and a horde of enraged diggles in the other, there's no chance or mystery since you can see right through the grates. I suggest switching out the gates for doors with visBlock="1" so that you can't see into the rooms before you pull the switch.

i like this idea. it adds a little element of surprise. well, if you don't normally have a knockback/aoe ability, that is. :p

It would add a bit of mystery, but at the small cost of making bars and doors less consistent. Currently, all interior doors are custombreakables, and all bars are customblockers. That's not a huge argument against, but worth mentioning.

Personally, I both like and dislike this idea. If I had to pick one and vote, I think I would vote to keep the rooms as-is, where you can peek inside and decide whether you want the xp or the treasure. Which lever is worth pulling depends entirely on your build, and I like that. Also, with the correct skills you can get both by teleporting behind the bars or unleashing an area attack (or by being an archaeologist and choosing the artifact).

If you replaced the bars with a visblock door, that capacity to choose would be reduced. I suppose that change would be both a good and a bad thing. Good in that it reigns in wizards and archaeologists a bit, bad in that it diminishes the rewards of skill choice and would make the room much harder on the first floor.

As I think about it, though, the visblock door wouldn't really prevent casters from getting both. You'd rift or dragon's breath both doors, and the one that gave you xp was the one that had the diggles behind it. Blast it again for more xp, then go pull the opposite lever to get the artifact.

Assuming that the goal is to make the results of a lever pull random and unpredictable, it could be revised more significantly. Get rid of the extra sub-rooms entirely, and have the lever create either an artifact or a diggle horde. Then no one gets both the xp and the artifact.
