yeah, topic title a little confusing perhaps, but I'm not sure what else to call this problem. As long as I'm carrying a Lutefisk cube, I tend to be stuffing things into it all the time and I just leave the Lutefisk stack in it until I need it, right? Makes sense. Well, the last few times I've loaded my game, I'll load it, open the cube, and there's no lutefisk in it. But the lutefisk isnt gone.... it is, instead, randomly in one of the crafting gizmos. I might open one up to find that it's in the spot that you put items in, or the spot where finished items appear. Sometimes the stack is divided into more than one stack and thrown randomly around multiple crafting gizmos, if I have more than one. This isnt THAT big of a problem, but it usually means the loss of an inventory slot; I cant put the lutefisk back into the cube for obvious reasons, so it has to sit somewhere else, taking up a slot, while the cube then is slowly used to spawn more. Definitely not a one time problem. This one keeps happening.
Yeah, I noticed that the lutefisk stack reappears in the crafting tool that is rightmost in the top row of your inventory. Further testing needs to be done, but I think that pattern is correct.
