I wonder what the guy who got the TV (if they were switched up) thought...

Oh, boy, that would be hilarious if I got that instead of a TV.
Best mistake ever! Not really, but still, that's quite funny.

Looks like the address label on the box for his TV got rubbed off in handling and ended up on the gun box. UPS oopsie. So likely the TV didn't get delivered anywhere, because no shipping address. If I was feeling mean-spirited, I'd guess someone working in the UPS package handling chain wanted a new TV.

"Sig Sauer - when it counts (read the instructions and warnings carefully before using this firearm)"

Me living in germany where weapon laws are very strict finds this to be quite amusing. More so because its manufactured here, too.

lol, honestly, how many times in your life did you guys get in situations that counted so much you truly needed a military grade fully automatic assault rifle??? I mean like when you want to kill someone there will be ways other than assault rifles too but wouldnt that be sick somehow? lol, america, i love your logic XD

I'll answer by proxy, since I read a lot of american gun blogs, although I too live in a country with strict gun control(sweden).

They want them for two basic reasons.
    1) It's really FUN to shoot them, at the shooting range.
    2) Self-defense isn't just when you're attacked out on the town, there's a rising problem of house invasions in the USA. IE: a group of criminals coming into your home, often armed with their own guns. Also they make damn fine anti-looting deterrent when there's riots/natural disasters. The houses in new orleans where the owners sat on their roofs with their (semi-automatic) AR handy were left alone, in the aftermath of Katrina.

PS: Contrary to what you would intuit, remington .223 rounds penetrate house walls LESS than pistol rounds. So there is less of a risk of accidentally killing a family member or neighbour by a stray round. A 9mm or .45 will go through something like 5 walls, a .223 will be stopped by 2.

Dissection, would it be fair to say your knowledge on guns is lacking? I'm not trying to be insulting, I'm asking a serious question.
Even though I am an American, and I live in North Carolina, I myself don't know that much about guns.

I have no irrational hatred towards them. Guns are tools, they can be used to kill, and they can be used for shooting targets, which wastes paper. :p

All in all, a tool is only as dangerous as it's wielder.
Plus, I've never heard of a gun killing people by itself, when it's not loaded.
Swords have killed plenty of people over the years by themselves. :) And they're always loaded, so to speak, even in a scabbard. :)

Nope, we aren't having a gun debate in this forum ;)
