I've stumbled upon a bug involving the Master of Arms skill. When you start a new game with Master of Arms, you are supposed to receive an Iron Breastplate; however, when you also have Fungal Arts, Tinkerer and Rouge Scientist you instead spawn with a Fine Linen Shirt. Non-bug. Apparently just a feature I was not aware of.
Problem here is that you only get the breastplate when you have a majority of warrior skills. It sounds like you didn't.
Ahh, right you are. Carry on! Was this a relatively new change (YHTNTEP forward) or did I just happen to always have high enough Warrior in the past?
Probably just high enough warrior. I think it got changed to "majority rules" for most starting items before RotDG.
