I have had 100 population for multiple days now. Since reaching one hundred I only receive overseers to balance loss of workers (since workers immigrate in groups) i don't know if there is an intentional limit or if i am just unlucky not to have received immigrants. I know that it's possible to get more than 100 through temporaries, im just asking if anyone has been able to get a larger permanent population? Edit: yeah, i just received immigration but only one (to fill the death of another) so i take it there is a cap. On another, does anyone else feel that by being diplomatic with fish people and wiping out bandit camps as they spring up, the later game is too easy? My entire play through suffered only one set back; the death of the lead scientist due to a science crate. This is not to say that there where no bandit raids or such. Several times over 15 bandits raided at once, but by mid game i had enough soldiers to fight them back. As for other things that can go wrong, cults are at this point relatively easy to suppress with frontier justice (in my opinion), and dark artifacts don't do that much at this point. Does anyone agree with me?
A lot of the additional lose states are still not added to the game, reason given being that they're dependent on other player tools that were missing from the game and without those there would be no actual way to really deal with things to avoid those lose conditions. But slowly but surely more avenues to lose are added bit by bit as the game gets more stable, basic systems balance becomes sufficient and player tools mature enough for such things to be switched on. From the sounds of things in the very near future various colonist behaviour fail states could very well be switched on (And probably with little prior indication it will happen), as currently a significant chunk of the colony behaviour/interaction simulation has been switched off or otherwise down played. Once it's fired back up, things are likely to get rather interesting. And yep, you've hit the population cap.
Cap should be 100 at this time yes. And also yes...You get Overseers just a bit too often and easily. But it's alpha; they need to make sure you have available work crews at all times until everything is put in. In the final game I'm sure that the balance through the population of lower/middle/upperclass will be better, at this time for example it's possible to have 3 upper class people, and then half your population is overseers. It'll get better! Alpha is alpha.
