Note: My apologies if I neglected to include your favorite, I sought what I perceived as the most varied and mainstream interpretations as well as the ones I like. ps. there can be only ONE VOTE, and your vote will be visible to all. edit : ugh i double posted sid vicious. derp. Sinatra Elvis Paul Anka Humperdinck Sex Pistols Gipsy Kings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mhkNyaUYtQ Sid Vicious http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIp_N6bjj64 Limp Bizkit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dn8vzTsnPps&t=87
I chose Sinatra. Was very tempted to choose Gipsy Kings but I can't understand Spanish well enough to enjoy the song, I'm afraid.
As much as I hate Bizkit, I chose him. If I had taken this poll years ago I would have chosen Sinatra. And if NiN or Marilyn Manson ever did a decent cover of this, I would submit that as my response. Say what you like about Marilyn Manson, but he(?) does some amazing covers at times. (I think that he still identifies himself as a male. But there are times that I really wonder if he knows that.)
I chose Sinatra, though I kind of also like Paul Anka, and (believe it or not) The Sex Pistols. Limp Bizkit doesn't even seem to be singing the same "My Way" -- it seems more of an ode to narcissism than anything else. Elvis really overdoes it in a huge way (then again, I'm biased -- not a big fan of the Pelvis).
I choose Elvis. After all, he is known as The King! Heck, there is even a religion concerning Elvis. At least that is what I have heard.
Well I voted for Bizkit, and I want to punch him for each and every song he did. Besides, Narcissism is a virtue in this day and age.
