But that's gotta be the worst kick in the pants ever, getting that as a quest reward. Also, the crafting recipe that calls for a crude iron axe and is supposed to yield throwing axes is yielding the higher level Nappa Zap or whatever it is. Is this a bug or some side effect of having smithing maxed?
It's the effect of having smithing maxed - as you raise your crafting skills, bolts and throwables (some of them, at the very least) you craft will instead become alternate, probably better (I'm not sure about Npappa Zaps, but other stuff is better), versions. But yeah, Inconsequentia pretty much trolled you with that reward.
Also, rather than make a new topic, I'll post this here. You can "wear" wizard sleeves by right clicking on them, however they just disappear. Wearing a second one will not cause the first one to appear back in your inventory, and if you have stats on your Wizard Sleeve, they will not be applied to your character when you "wear" it.
That's not a bug, Moses, that's a joke from the developers. You see, you can try telling your character to wear it because it's an equipment piece, but it uses a sleeve slot, of which there are none in the game, so the end effect is that you might just as well tell your character to put it in his ass. Because you aren't going to regain the sleeve you equipped to your sleeve slot as you have no sleeve slot. And yes, I fell for this one the first time around, too. Probably everyone did. But you can use this sleeve and some kind of jacket to craft a boosted piece of chest armour.
You can't really. They just disappear. I always thought it was an in-joke, that you equip it and then can't find it because there's no sleeve slot. ~shrugs~
I always thought the "Magical BadAss Jacket" was a bit weak for a rare craftable, I mean its just like regular armor.. Shouldn't it give a massive buff to something magical or something since it has a Wizard's Sleeve? I was a bit disappointed when I finally got mine.
I've heard that if you craft an item that has enchants on it, they don't carry over onto the new item I got a Wizard's Sleeve as a quest reward once too. Except mine wasn't even enchanted. ;_;
