Plague Dottore Borrowing primarily from OmniNegro's contribution to Plague Victim, I present a totally separate wizard skill based around creating and managing vicious plagues. Basic mechanic should be that the good Dottore employs some method of delivery, which will be the primary spells. Starting with manual injection, which while very low cooldown also puts the god Dottore in danger. Then, the plague is chosen from a small selection of plagues, which then goes on a rampage through the enemies following its own particular routine. To avoid the problems I had with magic missile, instead of adding different types as the levels progress, each of the delivery spells with have its own set of compatible plagues. To keep the relevance of the weaker ones, the possible power of each delivery method will go up, but guaranteed effectiveness will go down. Sticking with OmniNegro's original idea, these plagues will likely ramp up in power when they get retransmitted. Bonus, Plague Doctor will have many tools for dealing with enemy mages. You were a plague doctor, up on the surface. A good number of people disagreed with your habit of collecting diseases. You did cure the latest plague, and they kicked you out. Taking out Dredmor should certainly make them think. . . before you unleash your new super-plague. Level 0: Doctor Beat Doctor, you've got this feeling, deep inside of you, that will keep you safe. You just can't control diseases. Just unleash the plague. They will die in pain! Doesn't give resistances. Gives a bonus to and - Ideally with some tweaking it can help mitigate the effects of early plaguing. Reduces - the doc took an oath. Level 1: Carpe Hyaloid! (seize a structure internal to the eyeball) You've got good aim with a needle, and the plagues you've got ready to dispense pretty much only work if you can hit a nerve anyway. They're not really virulent, but they will really mess your target up. Adds spell "Go For The Eyes"; which afflicts the target with two debuffs, as well as doing some minor damage. Eye Scream: Reduces target's , , and . You would cry too if you got stabbed in the eye. Adds one of the Needle Plagues: These plagues come in a few damage types, and spread like a thaumite infestation if and only if they kill the target, assuming I can do that. Each plague will debuff one stat, and do modest damage. Long duration. Syncopating Syphilis <- Blastocephalis <- ; maybe Level 2: Hazardous Materials To get the really good plagues working, it's occurred to you you should look into safety procedures for a dungeon first. Grants Adds spell "Wizard Pastur's Hazmat Aura" Hazmat aura adds a hungry (say, 1/2 or 1/1) buff which gives greatly increased magic resist and low (10%?) magic reflect. I'm concerned it'll be overpowered, but I wanted to distinguish it from Rogue Scientist's Thaumechanical Rebreather. Level 3: Like STDs But Easier Now that you've got the safety measures down, you've moved onto diseases that can be spread by skin contact. No hugging, no kissing. Doctor's Orders. Adds spell "Release The Goop!" Release the goop does a cone in front of the good doctor, laying down a puddle with a high chance to infect anyone who steps on them. These diseases do a bit more damage. Every few turns someone inflicted by one of these diseases will hit the squares cardinally adjacent to itself with some light damage and the appropriate infection (significantly low chance. It should be in danger of dying out without further assistance from the good Doctor). Moderate duration. Lecter's Lesions <- Fascist Fasciitis <- Parasitic Brainworms <- Level 4: (needs a name) The next set of plagues in development are going to be seriously dangerous. To this end, you've worked up some measures to cleanse yourself of aforesaid plagues if you should end up being a patient instead of a doctor. (flavor text is also awful) Adds spell "Pilate's Absolute Ablution" cooldown based. 200 turns-ish. Clears all plagues from the Doctor (and only plagues) and grants Innoculated buff, which protects from all new debuffs (plague or not) for 15ish turns. This distinction will be made clear in the tooltip. Level 5: The Dottore is In You've really got it now. A quick, virulent, deadly, airbone plague or three. Everything you ever wanted is in your grasp, just kill Dredmor. With your gear, you won't feel a thing. Gives actual modest , + Adds spell: Dustforce Magnus DM hits a decent size unanchored template, guaranteed to inflict the final plagues on any targets hit. Any target who dies from the plagues unleashes a Corpus Burst effect which has good odds of infecting everyone around them. These plagues have a very short duration. Ideally, some targets hit by them will die, but most will not. Spell names: Pandemonian Pandemic <- Saint Baka's Dance <- Cryptosporidian Special <- Ooze Ebola <-
Awesome! I love it! Level four name: Take a break, You'll get it back soon enough. The flavor text is good enough for it. (Actually it all looks good to me.)
