Protip: Use a 1x1 stockpile to make long distance hauling more efficient.

I'm trying it out now and it seems to do the job okayish.

For example, if you are chopping a bunch of trees far away from your main stockpile, put a 1x1 raw resources only stockpile next to the logs. Your colonists will consolidate it over at the logging site, and since the stockpile is only 1x1, they won't do that musical chairs stockpile organization thing that takes up so much time.
