I acquired one of those "Use X on the Y shrine to summon and defeat Z" quests. Got the item, went to a pocket dimension, got back, visited the shrine on that floor (one of the mellow kind, if that matters), and the script wouldn't run. The item could only be dropped, not used. I've done this innumerable times before without any problems, but not since purchasing the expansion, or utilizing a pocket dimension before completion. Thought I'd mention the issue.
It likely removed the required meta-data from the quest item. Entering wizardlands is still kind of wonky (why, I know not).
Yes. If you go to the Pocket Dimension after picking up the quest item but before using it, it will reset the metadata. The same thing happens with runes if you stack them in your inventory.
