Seems like an obvious thing-- especially since you die many many times when trying new builds, or if you just have bad luck, etc. Not a huge deal but if the game remembered your char name it would be nice.
Perhaps if it remembered your character name but had the text highlighted? That way if you began typing it would simply replace it. But if you didn't you could just skip past the naming step with ease. I'm another person who often immediately restarts the same exact character when I die with my crazy builds on level 1.
Better yet, a one button click that starts you with a random name. And perhaps above that one that starts you on GR, with random skills, and a random name.
Well, for weird people like you who insist on thinking up new names after every ten minute death, we could have an option to toggle off.
Are you kidding? Thinking up clever new names is the highlight of my short-lived character's careers. Some classics: Rock Enroller (Practical Geology, Runecaster) Belle Zenwhistles (Clockwork Knights, Tinkering) Berz the Irked (Axes, Berserker Rage) Chuck Finely (Throwing, Ninjitsu, Burn Notice reference) Fun Gus (Fungal Arts) Big Mac Guyver (Tinkering, Smithing) Maiden Taiwan (Kung Fu, Bushido) Not a Playa (Maces, Dual Wield -- he just crushed a lot.) Hey Abusa (Ninjitsu) Heywood Iblowya (Tinkering, Alchemy) Vaporware (Mathemagic, Computer Wizard) Toss MacSalad (Throwing, Practical Geology, Gardening) and my current: Kikken D'Arsealot (Unarmed, Elemental Warrior, Kung Fu) Yeah, naming characters is seriously like 15% of the fun of this game.
Hmmm. Maybe you are right. I feel like there should be a thread dedicated to silly character names, along with their cause of death.
Man, I've just been using Banjo and Gambelle so far. I feel bad. then again I've only ever used two builds so far, with only minor variants
