Basically I wish I could do this, but, alas I have no skills. Maybe some benevolent angel coder could throw it in. Based Purely upon the buff "Fueled by Booze" which I will refer to as FbBooz for the rest of this post. Roughly: Level 1: Walk the Line. Bonus Combat Stats while FbBooz is active. Mostly Burliness and Crit Chance. - 1 to sneakiness while FbBooz is active. Level 2: Another Round. Passively adds +3 duration to FbBooz whenever any alcohol is imbibed. Every Point of mana healed from FbBooz also heals 1 life. - 1 to sneakiness while FbBooz is active. Level 3: Fiery Breath. Consumes half the current FbBooz stack doing Fire damage in a cone in front of your character. Damage based on the amount of FbBooz consumed in the process. - 1 to sneakiness while FbBooz is active. Level 4: Ignore Pain. Defense Boost while FbBooz is active. Flat armor upgrade with additional piercing resistance. - 1 to sneakiness while FbBooz is active. Level 5: One On the House. Melee attacks while FbBooz is active have a chance of hitting all 8 adjacent squares (including minions, whoops . And yet another stat boost and -1 to sneakiness! Thoughts? Fun to play? Impossible to code with mods (like fiery mod consuming a stack and house ability hitting all locations?
The idea of a Drunken Brawler class in general just sounds epic. Of course, I'm not code savvy, and so I can not attest to the possibility of this in terms of modding. However, I will say this: If this were a mod, and I was planning on using a mod, I would use it immediately.
If the devs create the TriggerOnDrinking and TriggerOnEating tags that have been requested (along with dozens of others) on the next update, I will be on this like white on Ron Paul.
I like the idea.. alcohol based trees do sound nice, but may I suggest adding more than 5 levels? I would personally prefer as many drunk attacks/ effects as possible ^^
Yeah, honestly, Thanks for the positive feedback, especially since Essence would be willing to do it . Obviously the ideas are very rough and more than 5 levels would be great. And I totally love Jackie Chan.
/agree eat/drink/consumeitem procs would be amazing and I would totally have to re-try my Purple Magic skillset (was a personal gimmick, chaos magic, lot of procs)
Looks like once we get that TriggerOnDrinking support we'll have two nice mod-skill lines on our hands that would synergize extremely well together and be a blast to use: Turn your enemies into booze. -> Drink the booze so that you may turn even more enemies into booze. Who doesn't want to do that?
A minor suggestion, any drunken fighter class has to start with a broken bottle to stab monsters with. It just wouldn't be right otherwise.
Drunken fighters do not fight with puny weapons, they fight with their fists! Well, feet for Eyebrows McDungeoncrawler anyways.
This mod, if it ever happens, is going to have to introduce a new class of weapons that count as shields but give damage bonuses. 1 brass ingot -> Brass Knuckles.
OH Essence!!!! The latest patch notes tell me that: Booze and Food Consumption Triggers So I really hope you get around to making this mod! Obviously you can do whatever you want, and it will be your mod, but I would love it if you used some of my ideas.
It will be done, but be patient -- I have EDoDSIII, my mysterious paid mod, and Fight Club on my plate (in addition to RL), soit may be several weeks before I can get on this. But if no one else takes it on in the interim, I'll get there
