I'll stop suggesting things one day, honest. But seriously, this is in response to my "Best Place To Buy Dredmor" topic and the resulting discussion, and I think it's a great way for those of us with Dredmor already to support Gaslamp with a single small purchase. Thanks to Coffee Stain Studios and a number of other indie developers, there's a few soundtracks available for purchase on platforms like Steam and GamersGate for a small (<$5) fee, and I'd love it if Gaslamp got in on that too. It's practically pure profit (beyond Steam's cut) as the work is already done (although I would love it if it got a special cover, like a blend between the RotDG and vanilla loading screens - lady on left, guy on right), so aside from maybe a day or two of cover design, track naming and so on, there's not a lot you have to do. It'd allow people like myself and Marak (whom I know would like to support GLG) to support you guys with our purchases of an affordable product.
http://zath.bandcamp.com/ It really should be advertised more. It's been available even since the game came out.
Whoops! Didn't know about that (will buy it in a moment, I hope). I'll stick with my post, however, as it's something Coffee Stain Studios do with the Sanctum soundtrack - they have it available on Bandcamp, but it's also available as a sort of semi-not-quite-DLC purchase through Steam/GamersGate. Just helps keep it visible and so on. Edit: Bought! Paid $5 instead of the standard $3
This is a rough idea of what I meant for the "updated" cover, to reflect the expansion as well: Obviously not as good as the existing one (love the Queen reference!), but just me trying to show what I meant.
ummm.... aren't you guys forgetting something? Why isn't veil part of the in-game sountrack?! this is the best track on the whole thing!
I think this track ("Veil") should start playing randomly after the player had explored the whole map and there are no monsters nearby. Because paranoia in games is fun.
