Okay so to make a long story short I've been traveling a lot lately and while sitting in various trains getting more and more bored I've been entertaining myself with making up several ideas for mods. In fact it's a long time since I completed the planning stage and I'm more than ready to begin coding so yesterday when I came home after about a week in germany I sat down, turned on my PC and... Where the fudge is my Mod Directory?! I've been looking through my entire PC, lurking at the forums and so on and I just can't find it. Now I understand that it may be because I'm using steam and that steam simply dosen't have the directory because of the "o' so wonderful" workshop. Am I surpossed to create the directory folder myself and if so, where? Halp plox! D: ...also, what XML-program-majigger do you guys recommend?
Sorry to be an ass, but it is a sticky thread. Here is a direct link, followed by the answer copied from the thread itself. http://community.gaslampgames.com/t...mod-installation-guide-updated-6-5-2012.1335/ To Install a Mod Just drop the .zip file into the correct directory. For Windows: XP and lower: documents and settings/<user name>/gaslamp games/dungeons of dredmor/mods Vista and 7: users/documents/gaslamp games/dungeons of dredmor/mods For Mac: username/Library/Application Support/Dungeons of Dredmor/Mods For Linux: $HOME/.local/share/Dredmor
Of course I knew about the sticky thread and it didn't solve my problem, otherwise I wouldn't have made this thread to begin with. Problem is that I can't find my mod directory in neither the Gaslamp folder nor the Steam one, in fact it dosen't exist on my PC. Besides I'm talking about starting creating my own mods, not installing them.
Take any existing mod and put it where mods go and extract it. Then replace the contents with what you want. That is the easiest way. The directory for my own user named "User" would be "C:\Users\User\Documents\Gaslamp Games\Dungeons of Dredmor\mods\" If that does not exist for your user, just make it. It will work. If this still does not help, then I guess I am not understanding what you need. Sorry if that is the case.
You have to create the "mods" folder inside DoD folder inside GG folder inside documents. Like Omni said with I don't think not-steam installs create the folder by default.
Ohh, why thanks to you both then and I'm sorry for being an idiot who apparently can't read for shizzle. ;3
