[Latest patch, Steam version] After level 3, whenever a monster zoo is discovered (and i eventually run away, screaming) exploration around the rest of the level is stymied by a stutter every three or four steps. Now, the message box on the upper left tells me that monsters are awakening and dying sometimes during these stutters, but not always. and the click of a trap being triggered can be heard no matter where in the level i am.
The stutter is most likely monsters triggering traps and the resulting animation being played. Ideally animations that occur offscreen should not delay turns while they play out.
