Well, the crash was solved! A million and one thanks Nicholas. Would be million and two except for one problem: I only have one resolution. Every game I play, even really old games that don't use Direct3d, allows me to at least go down to 800x600. Dredmor's resolution picker is only picking up 1024x600 (my maximum screen resolution). I know it uses DirectDraw, but Diablo 2 uses DirectDraw and I can choose to play Diablo 2 at 800x600. So yes, Dredmor isn't picking up my other resolution options at all, locking me out of realistically playing in windowed mode. But otherwise oh my goodness thank you for the patch. I would happily donate another coffee IV if I knew how.
Blackop2: Shouldn't matter due to what I stated above. Diablo 2 uses the same rendering technology. If they can make it work (with a very similar UI to Dredmor's), and 800x600 isn't it this game, they can add it. Surely DirectDraw has some scant scaling capabilities?
You wouldn't want to software-scale anyway; Dredmor's art wouldn't look good run through that... ah, particular blender. If this is a big enough issue for enough people, we'll try to shrink the game back down to 800x600. But no guarantees.
Thanks for answering all my questions then. I don't know where you're getting free time from. Regardless the game is fine as it is and looks great on my netbook resolution.
I'd love to have an 800x600 resolution, I got Dredmor to amuse me on flights with my netbook, which remarkably only goes to 1024x600, so if It's not plugged into an external monitor, Dredmor crashes on start. So sad. Any workaround (or proper fix) would be most appreciated. Thanks!
