Hey, I tried today to copy my saved game from one computer to another. I copied the .sav bitmap file, and added the text from the original loadsave.dat file to the new one, and yet, when I activated DoD, loadsave.dat returned to its old text and the new saves didn't appear. Anyone know how to move the saved game?
While we are at it, what files actually make up a full save game? Been wondering what all those files actually do/store.
charactername.sav is your data, bitmap-character.sav is the preview image, but not necessary. loadsave.dat is what tells the game to load a certain file (which is why you have to edit it to show the path of the savegame.
Just so I'll be sure - how do you need to edit loadsav.dat? I just concatanetaed the text from the old one to the new one.
Well the easiest way would be to create a new game, save it, the entry will appear in loadsave.dat. Then you can just replace the filename with the other save you had.
