This skill seems to be able to blow out walls...which I imagine isn't intentional for a starting skill. EDIT: I'm also playing a Vegan and it's becoming apparent that I soon may be overrun with animals as they continue to spawn. I don't know if there's some system that will eventually stop them from breeding but I certainly hope so!
I had the impression it pushed some vending machines earlier, also they do paltry amounts of damage to non-demons.
It also moves, levers, chests, displacement glyphs, grates etc... It seems to just shove everything around a bit.
Actually it may not be related to the skill at all...some walls just seem to be really destructible now. I accidentally hit a wall with a missile spell when targeting a monster at an angle and it just took a chunk right out of it. Doesn't even seem to require a knockback effect.
Still doesn't let you actually fire at the walls directly it seems...you've got to either hit when aiming at something else, or use something that lets you target an empty square (like an explosive). Maybe it's meant to allow you to use things like bombs to dig through to secret areas?
Agreed. When I used this skill on a non-demon creature (the potato monster in level 1) it moved two walls and one grate. I have a screenshot, is there a e-mail to send screen shots too?
Not a bug, certain walls are meant to be destroyed There's actually many secret chambers throughout the game!
Just wanted to confirm and expand on what Aquaman said: This is not a bug. Many terrain items in the game can be pushed around by a variety of powers, including Turn Demon, Throwing Buffalo Technique, Psychokinetic Shove, etc, and a few items like Concussion Bombs. What's more, there are two types of walls in the game - normal walls and fragile walls. Fragile walls can be destroyed by any attack that can target them. This includes most area-affect damage spells, but also things like Poison Bottle Bolts and the various bombs. Not all weapons, powers, etc let you target spaces on the floor or wall directly, so with some builds your only option is to maneuver until a monster is standing adjacent to the wall you want to zap. The fragile walls usually seal off "secret" areas, like little treasure hordes. The game rewards you for experimenting, and for making mental note of which room types have hidden areas. It's a minor part of the skill curve - not literally anything to do with skills, but rather as in "how you can become better at the game". Wanted to get the word out, since not only the main game but also my Interior Dredmorating mod makes extensive use of hidden rooms like this, and if most people don't realize they exist they'll be missing out.
