Ok so this would take a LOT of effort to implement but wouldn't it be amazing if the character appeared on-screen in the clothes they are wearing and holding the weapons they are wielding. I am aware this would add a large number of new images and a HUGE amount of animations, but that isn't what's important. What IS important is being able to SEE your character in the traffic cone.
Theres already about 100 sprites of animation for the character as it is, if you did this for all of the clothes you'd have a TB hard drive entirely full of gamesprites
Erm, no. There was a thread about this already, and since you either weren't successful in finding it, or didn't care enough to do it, I'll give you the answer. You are seriously underestimating the amount of effort the developers would have to put to create something like that. There are over 400 sprites per character, which means over 800 (closer to 900, really) sprites they'll have to do for every version of the visible gear. And even if we only got three additional versions (for basic class armours), that would still be thousands of sprites to make. And your version? If they were forced to make that many sprites for no other reason than there being more eye-candy in DoD, I'm pretty sure they'd simply abandon the game. Because with the amount of different gear it would literally require millions of sprites. That is what is important, not "being able to see a character in a traffic cone".
