Not sure if this would go here or what, but...why is clockwork drill lance a staff? It's very clearly a, well, Lance. And considering polearm includes spears, dscribed as "A staff with a knife on the end," why can't it have a lance? In a similar vein, I've seen some items that say "Like a staff with an X" that are staves, and some thatare Lances. This all just seems horribly inconsistent. And if it's just "Too much like a staff," why is the morningstar a polearm? I propose the requisite be how you attack with it. Morningstars are swung, so maces. Stuff like Glaives are swung, so staves. Lances, tridents, etc are JABBED like in the animation Thus, Polearms.
I agree that Clockwork Drill Lance should definitely be a polearm instead of a staff. I do not agree with the rest what you are saying. Polearm is a weapon that has it's fighting part attached to the end of a long shaft. And there are plenty of polearms that were used to swing, slash, or pummel the opponent.
You want perfect accuracy from a video game? Not going to happen. Staves are *All* polearms by definition. Just not in this game. They are working on this and may eventually make the change you want, but you could make a mod to do the same yourself too. (It would require editing base game files, so it would not be possible to use the mod loader for this, but it is easy enough.)
IIRC someone from GLG (I don't remember who and cba to search) mentioned that he will look at the weapon classes.
I quite agree that the clockwork drill lance should be a polearm. Irrelevant. Affirming the Consequent. All staffs may be polearms but not all polearms are staffs.
