Do the static bonuses from weapon skills (critical hit, counter attacking, enemy dodge reduction, types of damage) hold for any weapons you use so long as you have the skill, or only for weapons of the respective type? For example: if you have the bonus crushing damage from throwing weapons, will that affect damage with crossbows and with swords? Does anyone know if the thrown weapon ammo recovery rate bonus also applies to crossbow bolts? (And if it stacks with the bonus from crossbows?)
To check for certain, check the melee and ranged damage sections of your character sheet. If you see the crushing damage icon for melee and you know that came from picking an ulrelated skill, then it's applied globally. As for thrown weapon recovery, I assume it's just for thrown weapons. Bolts have their own recovery bonus from the archery tree.
