Will score and achievements be registered if not running Steam?

Howdy,

I sometimes have problems launching Steam, but found out that I could still run DoD by just launching the .exe, even if Steam is not running.
I was wondering, then, does one's score register and achievements unlock just the same as if one was running the game through Steam?

 

Your local highscore list should work but achievements wouldn't (as they're tied into Steam).

Skafsgaard, all you need to do is log in when you finish the game/die to get on steam scoreboards, too.

 

owait I can just run the exe and tell steam to GTFO? awesome.
